Innovating humanitarian aid

Over the past decade, the number of people affected by crisis has almost doubled. Costs of international humanitarian aid have tripled. Innovation is badly needed if we want to continue providing help to those in need. Although seemingly worlds apart, festivals are the perfect testing ground for humanitarian aid innovations. Like refugee camps, festivals are set up to temporarily host a large number of people. Both need working infrastructures for energy, water, waste, sanitation and crowd management. By bringing these worlds together, Open-House helps institutions like the Red Cross develop and test solutions for major global challenges.

Pilot: Red Cross

The Netherlands Red Cross needs partners that are organized and equipped to support structural innovation. Together, we’re developing and testing concrete solutions.
